
Mental preparation for performance encompasses a multitude of diverse and varied techniques aimed at self-knowledge. More specifically, the dimensions worked on are those of :
- Motivation to accomplish a given goal and maintain commitment despite the appearance of difficulties or obstacles,
- Goal setting related to a specific desired level of performance or skill
- Activation management related to the physical and mental reactions to be generated in order to find the level of activation that is appropriate for the individual and for the activity being performed,
- Mental imagery, which consists of imagining a situation to better manage it or a gesture to better execute it when the time comes
- Concentration, which allows us to focus on the right things at the right time,
- Emotional management, either by changing the content of one’s thoughts, or by changing one’s relationship to one’s thoughts,
- Management of injuries (both physical and psychological) which consists of taking into account the pain and suffering associated with them as well as the reasons for them in order to better adapt, accept and rebound,
- Recovery, which aims at a good management of the effort provided in the long term
- Development of a routine (succession of thoughts and behaviors) that prepares for action,
- Group cohesion which allows for good cooperation in the pursuit of individual and collective objectives.
